Whitaker Forest Research Station Directions
Coming from King's Canyon National Park. Travel 3 miles east from the junction of Highway 180 and the Generals Highway near Grant Grove to Quail Flat. Quail Flat is the turn to Hume Lake. Turning the opposite direction travel down a dirt road for 3 miles, past Redwood Saddle into Whitaker's Forest Headquarters. A gate at the entrance is normally open when the site is occupied. Coming up from Badger or Pinehurst, follow the signs toward Eshom Campground. Proceed past this campground for about one mile to the entrance of Whitaker's Forest.
